Hi everyone,
It occurred to me as I have started teaching the year 12s the music video unit that they are a brilliant untapped feedback resource for you. If you're willing, I will show each video to a handful of them, and they can provide constructive feedback as fresh eyes and thinking of it in terms of music video analysis that we've been doing in class.
The questions I would propose would be:
What representations can you see?
What intertextual reference examples did you notice?
Are there any construction elements you think were done especially well and any you feel could improve?
Does the video fit the music?
If you'd rather not have this feedback, do let me know, but it can often be a really great way to get another perspective, and after all, I've seen the videos so much that there may be something I'm now simply blind to...
Let me know by Friday period 1 if you don't want to participate.
Best wishes
Ms Cope
